• Terenure History

A wealthy and middle-class neighbourhood of Dublin, Ireland’s Terenure was formerly known as Roundtown. It is situated in the D6W postal district of the city. Although certain areas of Terenure are in South Dublin, the majority of the region is under the administrative control of Dublin City Council. Additionally, it has a boundary with the communities of Templeogue, Rathgar, Kimmage, and Perrystown and is situated south of Harold’s Cross and north of Rathfarnham.

The village has a wide variety of independent stores, including a butcher shop, boutique clothing store, charity shop, and pharmacy. There is also a Tesco Metro for grocery shopping and larger weekly shops are also catered for by Lidl and Aldi located in the village.

• Education in Terenure 

The Terenure neighbourhood is home to St. Joseph’s BNS, Presentation Primary School, Presentation College, Terenure College, Our Lady’s Secondary School, and Presentation College (formerly Presentation Secondary School; renamed in 2004).

Terenure has a great selection of bars and restaurants from JD SteakHouse, Brady’s pub and many more. If you’re looking for something a little different, you’re not too far from Dublin City Centre which is easily accessible using public transport. 

• Terenure Public Transport

With buses 15, 15a, 15b, 15d, 16, 49, and 65 all running through the village, the area is well supplied. The M50 is also easily accessible via the Spawell roundabout, which is a 7-minute drive away. The no 16 bus brings locals straight to Dublin airport making it very appealing to many.
